Engage the people of Washington Heights and neighboring communities through exemplary musical performances and innovative educational programming.
Located just one block west of Broadway at Fort Washington Collegiate Church, Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra wants to connect all of us into a communal listening experience – an experience that celebrates diversity, engenders civic awareness, and enriches lives. More than classical music, our orchestra strives to be a place that connects the best art across genres and cultures and reconnects people in community. We want you to fall in love with this music. But we want more. We want you to be inspired by the positive energy created when like-minded people work together toward a common goal.
We want to touch and inspire a diverse and hungry audience where they live. Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra is a new non-profit arts education organization. Our home is Fort Washington Collegiate Church at 729 W. 181st St., who is partnering with us to present our 2nd season in 2016-17. This year we’re producing nine concerts featuring the orchestra and its fine musicians who will present solo recitals and chamber music to the neighborhood. WHCO is comprised of professional musicians from Upper Manhattan. We’re neighbors. And we want you to come experience the music with us.
Join us in building the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra. We are a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization under IRS code 501(c)(3), and your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
